Hindus and Sikhs often wish to wash their loved ones before the funeral. We have facilities and specialist staff to guide families in performing the ritual washing and dressing at Chani House.

We have two specialist ladies and two specialist men in-house able to help with dressing with sarees, cufni pyjama and turbans.

Please discuss your requirements with the members of staff arranging the funeral as early as possible to book a convenient appointment.

We sometimes advise families not to wash and dress if the deceased has passed away due to an infectious disease (due to health and safety reasons) or underwent a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death as this can be extremely distressing to the family.
